The Macedonian Games

Not only did the Macedonians hold games, they held the most intense of all. When Alexander the Great was a boy his father, King Philip was killed by a rogue disk. When men were killed by javelins that was seen as nothing more than just chance, and bad luck. Besides being intense, they were also as publicly attended as the Greeks famous olympics. The Macedonian, before Alexander, stretched from Northern Greece to nowadays Bulgaria. They were especially known for their military tactic known as the phalanx, and their legendary cavalry. Alexander used the tactics to destroy the middle east, but that is besides the point and off topic. The Macedonian games were widely attended and marvelous compared to the Greeks in the early years. When the Greeks were conquered by the Macedonians, the games continued. It is all very interesting and stay tuned for more on this subject. Hint, next post might be on the Seleucids. Comment on suggestions, share, and take this to school.
